Terms of use

1. Who we are
Bunletter is run by Bunletter (“we”, “us”). These terms apply whenever you use Bunletter: making a card, opening one, signing one, replying to one or paying for one. By using it, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Bunletter.
2. Using Bunletter
- You need to be at least 13 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to make or pay for a card.
- There are no accounts. When you make a card you get two links: their link, which is the card, and your private link, which lets you edit, share, upgrade and delete it. Anyone with your private link can do those things, so keep it to yourself. We can't recover it if you lose it, and we'll never ask you for it.
- Card links are unlisted, not secret. Anyone who has a card's link can open it, and links can be forwarded. Don't put anything in a card you wouldn't want seen by someone other than the person you sent it to.
3. Your content
Everything you add to a card (names, messages, doodles, photos, voice notes, replies and group notes) stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it (for example, resizing photos) and show it to anyone who opens the card, for as long as the card exists. That permission ends when the card is deleted, apart from the copies described in our privacy policy.
You're responsible for what you add. Only upload photos and recordings you have the right to share, and be thoughtful about other people who appear in them.
4. What's not allowed
Don't use Bunletter to make or send anything that:
- is illegal, or encourages something illegal;
- harasses, threatens, bullies or intimidates anyone;
- attacks people for who they are, such as their race, religion, gender, sexuality or disability;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualizes anyone under 18 in any way;
- shares someone else's private information, photos or recordings without their permission;
- pretends to be someone else in a way meant to mislead;
- is spam, a scam, phishing, or links to malware;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
Also don't try to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits of Bunletter, or use it to get at cards that aren't yours. If you find a security problem, please tell us at [email protected] instead.
We may remove a card, or parts of it, that break these rules, and we may block whoever made it from making more. If a paid card is removed for breaking these rules, it won't be refunded.
5. Group signing and replies
If you turn on group signing, anyone with the signing link can add a note, up to 40 per card. The card's creator can see and remove any note from their private page. People who sign or reply are bound by these terms too, and are responsible for what they write.
6. Songs from YouTube and Spotify
When you attach a song, we store only its link. The song plays in YouTube's or Spotify's own player, under their terms, and what plays (a preview or the full track) is up to them. We don't host or own those songs, and a song can stop playing if it's removed from their service. The built-in tunes are composed for Bunletter and belong to us.
7. Paid cards
- Making and sending a basic card is free. The fancy card costs $4.99, paid once for that one card. It unlocks every theme and outfit, up to 5 photos, a 15-second voice note, music, sealing the card until a date and time, the story image, and removes the watermark. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
- Launch offer: fancy cards made until Nov 1 are free and stay unlocked after the offer ends. We may end the offer early; cards already made keep their extras.
- Payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your card number. Your bank may show the charge in a different currency and may add its own fees.
- A paid card is for one person and one occasion. After paying, the occasion is fixed and the recipient's name can only take small typo fixes. Once the recipient opens the card, it can't be changed at all, though you can still delete it.
- Prices can change, but never for a card you've already paid for. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
8. Ours
Bun, the artwork, themes, outfits, built-in music, the message ideas, our guides and the Bunletter name belong to us. You're welcome to share your cards, screenshots of them, and links to our pages. Please don't copy Bunletter itself or use Bun to make your own products.
9. Keeping cards available
We work hard to keep Bunletter running and your cards available, but we can't promise it will never be down, or that it will exist forever. Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you. If we ever plan to shut Bunletter down, we'll post a notice on the site first.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Bunletter is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don't give any warranties beyond those stated here, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a card that arrives late or a lost private link. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the card the claim is about. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Bunletter changes. We'll change the date at the top when we do. If a change matters, we'll say so on the site. Continuing to use Bunletter after a change means you accept the new terms.
